Synopsis

A new procedure called, Severance. A new technology allowing memories to be dimensionally dictated. Severance splits your brain in two so you essentially separate your work life from your personal life. Your severed 'parts' are colloquially referred to as “innies” and “outies”. Before you enter your workplace, you may now refer to yourself as the outie. Your workself is your innie whoms entire life is contained to the office.

"Your life and memories are yours right up until you hop in the elevator at Lumon Industries, go down to the severed floor, and get to work. From that point on, your time and memories belong to your innie — and to Lumon." - Andrew Webster, The Verge
